Staark is a little word, used to describe an emotional reaction to colour… its like trying to tag something uncontainable…
We fell across “staark” whilst hunting for our own ‘description’ – we fell in love with it when we realised that pronounced this way, in German, means “strong!”. It has such a sense of duplicity about it — much like us and our music.
We are an electro-pop duo from East Coast Australia, we craft songs that hopefully fall further from the candy-pop end of this eclectic genre and could still stand up on their own (without our beloved beats, programming and orchestration). We write songs, in part, to help us process this personal trip called life and because we need to create – we want to share and connect with others… simple, human tendancies – the ‘stuff’ within us all.
Aside from all the incredible talent who star beside us on this album AND ‘the star’ Pix Van Mason (producer/engineer) who actually made it all happen, we are Kat Valerie and Max Luther.
